This past Saturday, Ninety-seven players returned to Harrison, Arkansas to play in the 5th Annual North Ark Open presented by Dynamic Discs. To accommodate this attendance, we added two holes as we have in the past for this crowd favorite event.

I want to take this time and thank the Harrison Convention & Visitors Bureau as I did at the event. Matt Bell has continued to support this event with the funding of this tournament and in turn the players have continued to support this event. It has been a great 6 years and I look forward to many more!

Also, I would like to thank: Michael Corey, Andrew Jinks, Dasun Keyler, Brandon Shields, and Andrew Morrison (and whoever else I may have missed), for running tournament central while Team Monkey was out on this event doing numerous different things. I couldn't and wouldn't have wanted to do it without you. Also, to the Harrison Disc Golf Society and Tad Odom thanks for putting out the water and other behind the scenes work! If I missed someone please forgive me as all who help are greatly appreciated!

The day could not have been more beautiful. Sunshine, mid 70's, with a breeze (that picked up some but only for a bit). There were 10 Divisions that included two women's divisions and two junior divisions. It is awesome seeing these divisions grow this year. This year has definitely set a record for women's attendance! Thanks for showing up ladies!

During the round I saw a lot of smiles and players having a good time. My 1st card was definitely a blast. Having Chad, Doug, Shayn, and Jayson was definitely a comical and fun card. Who knew this "Chad" guy could dish out so much! Way to have fun!!

The Men's Open division winners was played out in front of me as I was able to hobble my way to a tie for 3rd with Dixon Jowers (from Emporia, Kansas) Watching Jeff and Richard (of Tulsa, OK) battle for 1st was awesome. Richard was only two off the lead after the first round, and picked up two, shooting a 54, in the last round forcing a tie break. Jeff Renner made about a 40' putt to seal the deal and take home the 5th Annual North Ark title! Great battle guys.

Tara Why, Sandy Leech, Lauren Wright, and Staci Healey made up the Open Women's division. Tara and Sandy played very consistent shooting 68 & 71 both rounds giving Tara (from Tulsa, OK) the win. Lauren and Staci were a little off the pace turning in a 149 & a 151. Great job ladies!
