Winter Blast - North Ark Open Players Meeting - Dec 8th, 2022
Elephant & Castle presents: The 12th Winter Blast - Featuring The 10th Annual North Ark Open Players’ Meeting
Welcome to the 12 Winter Blast AND the 10th North Ark Open! As always, we’d like to start off by thanking our title sponsor: Elephant & Castle Fine Arms. We’d also like to thank all of our tour sponsors this year: Prodigy Discs, Innova Champion Discs, Dynamic Discs, Creator Designs, Fossa, Millenium Golf Discs, Discmania, Greazy Dyes, Patriots Gold & Silver, MVP/Axiom, Intuitive Body Works & Massage, Discs Unlimited, Missouri Common Ground Alliance, and Swing Right Golf.
Don’t forget that we are raising money for the Christian County Family Crisis Center (Freedom’s Rest) at this event. I will be raffling off a new Innova Discatcher Pro-28 basket for the big ticket item. There will be a lot of other things in the raffle as well. If you are able, pick up some canned food, cleaning supplies, or make a straight donation. Make all checks payable to Freedom’s Rest. If you can, support this last event on the Blast Off Tour 2022 by giving a little back. Thank you all in advanced!
Everyone needs to check in at the concession stand or in the trailer (weather dependent). Also, the PDGA is requiring a signed waiver stating we acknowledge the increased risk of COVID-19 by playing in this tournament. Since you all signed up online, you've already signed that waiver.
Speaking of COVID-19, please maintain social distancing at all times before, during, and after the tournament. During check-in, please form three lines, and keep at least 6 feet apart in those lines. Six people at a time will be allowed to check in. After the tournament, amateur players receiving a payout will need to form three lines, as 6 people will be allowed in the trailer at any one time.
Round 1 tees off at 9:00. Scores for the tournament should be kept on the PDGA website, but we can have paper scorecards available if necessary. Player course and hole assignments will be posted Friday evening at https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/59096. The link to online scoring is https://pdga.com/score/. The access code is NAO. Please have at least two people record the card scores to pdga.com. This will help reduce the possibility of errors. DGM staff will receive them at tournament central. When round one is finished, everyone is on their own for lunch. Round 2 should start at 1:00, but will be based on receiving the last card after round 1. Player course and round assignments will once again be posted to the PDGA event page, and scores should be kept on pdga.com.
Rules for the courses are listed below. MVP-only CTP is hole 6b. Prodigy-only CTP is hole 17.
This is the last chance to win one of these CTP’s and get entered into the raffle for a basket. Winners of the baskets will be announced at the end of the event. Innova and Dynamic Discs baskets were given out at the Finale!
If there is any question about any throws or lies, try to make a group decision. If no decision can be made, play a provisional. When possible, consult with the course TD to determine the correct answer.
